The Lake

Our Marinas are located on Dale Hollow Lake.

Upstream of the Cumberland River, which also meanders through downtown Nashville, the confluence of the Obey and Cumberland Rivers had a history of causing widespread and frequent flooding. In 1938 with the passage of the Flood Control Act, Congress created funding for what would become Dale Hollow Lake and Dam.

The flood control provisions were completed in 1943. With the passage of the Harbor Act in 1946 funding became available to add the generation of electricity to the Dale Hollow area. Completed in 1953, Dale Hollow Dam supplies power to about 45,000 households.
