TWRA Boating Safety Education course

Any person operating a vessel who was born after Jan. 1, 1989, must have successfully completed the TWRA Boating Safety Education course and have the TWRA-issued wallet certificate with them at all times as they operate the boat.

Someone may operate the boat without the training, but there MUST be a trained boat operator who can immediate take control who is over 18 years old and who, if born after Jan. 1, 1989, has the operators safety training and required wallet license with them.

To enroll in an approved Boating Safety course OR to find a location to take the required written exam  click the button below and then click the region of the state that is most convenient for you.

As you look for locations make sure that you recognize that some locations only offer the space to take the exam and are not offering the course itself.

Just Visiting Tennessee?
