Is your boat properly licensed?

The State of Tennessee requires that any vessel built after 1972 must be registered with the State through the County Court Clerk’s office where you reside.

If you are purchasing a vessel, you can operate it for 60 days while your boat registration processes. You will be issued a temporary registration by the dealer who sold you the watercraft.

Some crafts do not require registration. These include boats propelled by oars or paddles.

Sailboats domiciled in Tennessee must be registered.

Similar to registering your car, you can handle your boat registration online.

Just Visiting Tennessee?

If your vessel is currently registered in another state, you are not required to register your vessel in Tennessee unless you are moving the watercraft to Tennessee permanently.
